With more than 60 years of accumulated experience, the team behind Kira is made up of entrepreneurs, engineers and financiers of the energy transition. They have participated in the creation of pioneering companies in the renewable energy sector, among them Eolia, the first independent generator of clean energy in Spain.
Miguel is co-founder and president of Kira Ventures, where he focuses on identifying innovation opportunities in the climate transition.
Previously, he was the founder and CEO of Eolia Renovables, the largest independent Spanish wind company and the sixth largest by installed capacity. He founded and developed different wind and solar photovoltaic projects in Spain. Miguel was a Co-founder and Vice President of Jazztel plc and has 15 years of experience in the world of investment banking as head of Lehman Brothers and Salomon Brothers for Spain and Portugal. Miguel graduated as an industrial engineer from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and has an MBA from Columbia University.
As a co-founding partner of Kira, Carlos plays a critical role as responsible for financial advisory and asset financing activities.
With more than 15 years of professional experience in the renewable energy sector at Abengoa and Eolia Renovables, Carlos has coordinated the acquisition of more than 1 billion euro of bank financing for wind, solar and biofuel projects in seven different geographies and has closed a total of more than 25 asset acquisition / sale operations. Additionally, Carlos has advised institutional clients (Bankia) in the process of selling their portfolio of industrial holdings.
Mario is a co-founding partner and responsible of our asset management operations. Since the inception of Kira, he has been involved in the acquisition of renewable projects and in advising third parties in purchase-sale and refinancing processes.
Before joining Kira, Mario worked for Abengoa in the development, financing and construction of energy and infrastructure projects in the United Kingdom and Ireland. He is a Level III CFA candidate, specialist in financing and investment in renewable energy from the IEB and an industrial engineer from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
Juan Manuel is a co-founding partner of Kira and responsible for the area of development of new projects.
He has 17 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, locating and developing more than 300MW wind and 35 MW photovoltaic. He was a partner of Eolia Renovables and founder of several start-ups related to the maintenance of wind farms and photovoltaic plants. He began his professional career in the world of telecommunications, developing projects in Spain, Indonesia, Ecuador and Tunisia.
Ana is responsible for the financial soundness of Kira. She has more than 20 years of experience in the world of auditing and finance. Before joining Kira, she developed her professional career as director of financial auditing at Grant Thornton, and later joined the consulting firm Nunkyworld, specialized in digital transformation, as head of Finance. Ana is an account auditor registered in the ROAC, an accounting expert accredited in the Register of Accounting Experts and a graduate in Economic and Business Sciences from ICADE
Alberto is responsible for new projects at Kira. Previously, he worked for Bain & Company and was responsible for the business of a startup in the energy sector in Spain and Portugal. Prior to that, he led railway infrastructure projects in the United Kingdom for a Spanish engineering company for three years. Alberto has an MBA from ESADE Business School and is an industrial engineer from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
Belén is the head of administration at Kira, a role she has successfully performed for more than 15 years for Indigo Energías Renovables. She previously worked in the Jazzya Investments office and was the supervisor of the NH Hotel Group reservation centre for more than 6 years. Belén has a degree in tourism and business from the University of Cádiz.
Paloma works as an analyst at Kira. Since joining Kira, Paloma has been involved in the asset management and new projects areas, supervising the operations, management and maintenance of the plants and collaborating in the development of new business models. Paloma has a degree in energy engineering from Universidad Politénica de Madrid, and has a Master's degree in energy efficiency in building, industry and transportation.
Iñaki de las Rivas works as an analyst at Kira. Since joining Kira, Iñaki has been involved in the areas of asset acquisition and advice for third parties, collaborating in the coordination of due diligence processes and in the technical and financial analysis of operations. Iñaki is a Level I CFA Candidate and Industrial Engineer from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
Nacho Alarcó works as an analyst at Kira. Since joining Kira, Nacho has been involved in the areas of new projects and financial modelling. He graduated in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Exeter, and has a Master's degree in Financial Mathematics from King's College London, achieving honours and extraordinary awards respectively.
Juan works as an analyst at Kira giving support to the different areas of activity of the company. Juan is currently studying Energy Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, specializing in Industrial Technologies.
